Juvenile Assaulted On East Grant

On Saturday, January 1, 2011, at approximately 1:35 a.m., patrolman Nicholas Vaughan and Detective Hussam Assad responded to the 100 block of East Grant Avenue on a report of a dispute.

Upon arrival, the officers observed a male juvenile walking on the sidewalk away from the area. The juvenile stated that he was assaulted by a male but was unable to identify his assailant. This juvenile further stated that an unknown male ran through one of the residence’s backyard and he may have been involved in the assault. The victim had visible injuries to his face, head, and neck. The juvenile’s parents were contacted, and the Roselle Park First Aid Squad responded and transported him to Trinitas Hospital in Elizabeth to be evaluated for his injuries.
