Paul R. Kleinman, 33, from Jersey City was arrested today by officers from the Roselle Park Police Department (RPPD) and the Union County Prosecutor’s Office after a month-long investigation of online luring of a juvenile and endangering the welfare of a child. Kleinman was charged with 2nd degree Luring and Endangering the Welfare of a Minor, for allegedly initiating the online relationship, with a 15-year-old Roselle Park resident.
According to prosecutors, Kleinman contacted the girl on the website MeetMe.com on September 29th of this year, then proceeded to contact the victim on her Facebook page, obtained her phone number, then began asking the victim to send naked photographs of herself and to meet him to have sex. The victim’s parent reported the incident to the RPPD on October 1st when the messages were discovered.
RPPD Sgt. Ted Dima and Detectives Rich Gregory and Paul Han of the Union County Prosecutor’s Office carried out the investigation which led to the discovery of nude photographs Kleinman allegedly sent of himself to the victim’s online account.
Kleinman was arrested at his home in Jersey City without incident then transported to the Union County Jail on $100,000 bail.
