On January 29, 2011 at about 2:08 p.m. on Woodland Avenue at Lehigh Avenue, Patrolman Kevin Florczak observed a black Honda traveling westbound. The vehicle did not have a front plate in violation of 39:3-33. The vehicle failed to come to a complete stop at a stop sign on Walnut Street at East Lincoln Avenue in violation of 39:4-144. A motor vehicle stop resulted in the discovery of one (1) metal grinder containing suspected marijuana, three (3) small clear zip-lock bags, and one (1) small green clear zip-lock bag containing a suspected marijuana residue.
The passenger, Jerry Manzano, age 21, of Hillside, was arrested and charged with 2C:35-10(a)(4) (possession of marijuana), 2C:36-2 (possession of drug paraphernalia). The driver was issued summonses for 39:4-144 (failure to stop), 39:3-29(a) (failure to produce documents) and 39:3-33 (unclear plates).
Manzano was released pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court date of February 3, 2011.
