The preliminary application hearing of the proposed development of the old Leberco Laboratories site on Hawthorne Street will be heard on Monday, March 13th. Originally scheduled to be heard at the December 12 Municipal Land Use Board (MLUB) meeting, the hearing has been postponed three times but is on the calendar for its preliminary.
The proposed mixed use of commercial on the bottom and residential on top went through an interpretation hearing in November to determine if its proposal met the conditions of municipal land use law. The MLUB voted in favor of the developer’s interpretation.
Residents in the area have expressed concerns over the parking space allotment that was requested by the developer in their initial application.
The MLUB meeting is at Borough Hall, located at 110 East Westfield Avenue.
