Governing Body Reaching Out To Residents Through Meet & Greets

1st Ward Councilman Andrew Casais will be holding what he termed “office hours” on Friday, May 3rd, in council chambers at Borough Hall from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. where he will be available to address any questions or concerns from residents.

2nd Ward Councilwoman Charlene Storey, following Councilman-At-Large Carl Hokanson’s practice, will be holding a Second Ward Dinner at Costa’s Restaurant onĀ  Monday, May 13th, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. All food – which includes a hot buffet, cold appetizer buffet, beer, wine, and soda – will be complimentary and 2nd ward residents are encouraged to attend where they can ask questions, talk about what is going on in town, speak with the councilwoman, exchange ideas, meet their neighbors, and get to know each other. The councilwoman will be handing out fliers to notify her constituents of the upcoming event.

All complimentary to 2nd ward residents, who are invited not only to ask me questions but also to share and exchange ideas and opinions with their fellow ward residents. RSVPs are helpful, but not required. Thanks, Saul.

5th Ward Councilman Michael Yakubov will be holding a safety walk in his ward to take note of areas that are in disrepair or need an upgrade which could include issues with sidewalks or signs that have deteriorated. He will be available to speak with residents to hear their concerns and suggestions. He will then send the issues to the respective departments – be it the Department of Public Works (DPW) or the police department – and follow-up to gauge their progress. The councilman did not state on what date(s) he will be conducting his safety walk.

Mayor Joseph Accardi stated he is available in his office upstairs in Borough Hall on Tuesday nights to meet with residents and that on most Sundays, he is at Sunrise Diner, located at the corner of Westfield Avenue and Locust Street.
