Girl Scouts To Be Mayor & Council For A Day This Thursday

Girl Scout Troops 40033, 40193, 40318, and 40908 will be sitting for Mayor and Council at the February 2nd regular municipal meeting.

The practice of having Roselle Park’s youngest female volunteer organization run part of a government meeting was done every year until about five years ago. Currently, there is only one woman on the governing body – Councilwoman-At-Large Charlene Storey – and one woman on the school board – Kimberly Powers.

The meeting will start at 7 p.m. in council chambers of the Roselle Park Municipal Complex located at 110 East Westfield Avenue.

Mayor Carl Hokanson stated that the Boy Scouts will be given the opportunity to run a municipal meeting later in the year.
