A free disco concert will take place from 6 o’clock in the evening until 7:30 p.m. at Michael J. Mauri Gazebo Park on Saturday, September 9th.
“Studio 54 – The Sounds Of Disco” will celebrate the music that was a combination of Funk, Soul, Pop, Latin, and Salsa music with a heavy “four-on-the-floor” bass drum beat. The most famous of all the discotheques was Studio 54, a nightclub on West 54th Street in New York City.
Joe Caroselli and his group will be playing songs by Donna Summer, Michael Jackson, Barry White, Gloria Gaynor, the Bee Gees, the Village People, KC and the Sunshine Band, and others.
The concert is free and open to the public. “Studio 54 – The Sounds Of Disco” is made possible in part by a HEART (History, Education, Arts Reaching Thousands) Grant from the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders.
Residents are welcomed to bring lawn chairs or blankets. Anyone needing more information can call Casano Community Center Director Rupen Shah at (908) 245-0666.
