Fraudulet Charges Made On Resident’s MasterCard Debit Card

On September 23, 2011 , a resident reported he was advised by his bank of multiple charges made on his account without his knowledge. The charges were made on a MasterCard debit card between September 22nd and September 23rd this year. The charges were made at a Quick Check in Fairfield, a Hess station in Union City, La Roca supermarket in Union City, an ExxonMobil in Linden, Macy’s in East Brunswick, and BJ’s in North Bergen. The charges totaled $742.21. BJ’s loss prevention was contacted and was able to capture video of the transaction and advised that a physical club card and debit card was used. The victim stated he has never lost his debit card and uses it rarely.
