Eugene Meola, the former councilman for the first ward, is continuing his tradition of celebrating the first newborn resident of the year.
One of Mr. Meola’s highlights as a representative of the people was recognizing the first child born every year. Started in 2016, the family of Roselle Park’s first annual resident was presented with a novelty stork on their lawn and a gift basket.
In 2016, Heidi Rhodes was born on January 13th.
2017 welcomed Ava Victoria on January 9th.
Any family who feels that their baby might be the borough’s first newborn of 2018 can reach out to First Ward Councilwoman Jayme Negron at jnegron[@]rosellepark.net or (908) 666-7824 or Mayor Carl Hokanson at chokanson[@]rosellepark.net or (908) 666-7817.
