On Saturday, July 2, 2011 at 5 p.m., a resident reported that he observed the flag pole in front of 180 West Webster Avenue, the Roselle Park Department of Public Works (DPW), was damaged. Patrolman Robert Harms observed the pole on the front lawn of the DPW was cracked at the base and the rest of the flag pole was lying on the grass. At this time, it is undetermined how the pole was damaged. There was no other evidence of a motor vehicle having struck the pole.
