Fireworks At High School On National Night Out

The postponement of fireworks on July 3rd due to rain will have the show occur on Tuesday, August 5th, during National Night Out and Town Picnic.

“America’s Night Out Against Crime”, which started in 1984, is held annually on the first Tuesday in August to promote involvement in crime prevention activities as well as police-community partnerships. ON that evening, homeowners are asked to turn their porch lights on to show support against crime.

Originally promoted to take place at the Roselle Park Middle School (RPMS) and Casano Center, all National Night Out activities have been moved and will take place from 6:15 p.m. till 8:15 in the evening on the Roselle Park High School Herm Shaw Field at West Colfax Avenue.  Ryan Angus will be the evening’s DJ. According to the updated promotional flier, there will also be give-a-ways, demonstrations and displays.

Fireworks will then be at the Green Acres Complex at the Roselle Park High School (RPHS) starting at 9:15 that evening. Fireworks will be able to be viewed from either West Webster Avenue in front of RPHS or from the lawn area off of West Colfax Avenue.

If following the custom of previous fireworks displays, people will be able to bring lawn chairs and blankets.

UPDATE: This article was updated to reflect a change in venue for National Night Out. The original location of the Casano Community Center and Roselle Park Middle School was provided in a mailing from the municipality in connection with SummerFest, dated July 22nd.
