Roselle Park’s annual Festival Of India will be held at Roselle Park High School (RPHS) from 6 p.m. till 11 o’clock at night on Saturday, October 1st.
Residents can experience the music, food, art, dance, history, and culture of the seventh largest nation in the world that is home to almost 18% of the world’s population (almost 1.3 billion). India has a long history that has contributed to the world – from the invention of chess to the development of the Decimal System to establishing the world’s first university to providing 70% of all thew world’s spices – just to name a very few.
There will be an opening dance performance and live music by Desi Beats Entertainment where everyone will be invited to the gym area for “Garba”, a traditional Indian dance.
The festival is sponsored – in cooperation with the Casano Community Center – by 7-Eleven on Westfield Avenue, Bombay Spice II, Dunkin Donuts, Indo-American Senior Association, Quality Auto Center, Rita Pharmacy, Roselle Park Liquors & Food, Roselle Park Education Association, and Super One Communications.
