On Monday, December 12th, at approximately 10:43 a.m., Roselle Park police officers responded to the area of Chestnut Street at Sumner Avenue on a report of a three-car accident with one of the vehicles stated to be resting upside down with entrapment and possible injury.
An investigation revealed a 2002 Honda driven by a 25-year-old male from Elizabeth was traveling eastbound on West Sumner Avenue and allegedly entered the intersection of Chestnut Street without stopping or yielding for the stop sign or oncoming traffic.
A 2007 Cadillac that was traveling southbound struck the Honda pushing it into the northbound traffic, striking a 2002 Ford, and causing it to roll over. The driver of the Cadillac, 57-year-old male Roselle Park resident was transported to University Hospital with no significant injury reported after he was extricated from the vehicle by first aid professionals.
The driver of the Honda was issued several motor vehicle summons and released from the scene with minor injury.
