Failure To Maintain Lane Violation Results In Alcohol & CDS Charges

On June 18, 2011 at 1:53 p.m., Patrolmen Robert Sobocinski and Joshua Medrano observed a green Honda on West Westfield Avenue in violation of 39:4-88(b) (failure to maintain lane). The driver, Jacquelin Ofarrell, age 23, of Piscataway was placed under arrest after two (2) plastic cups of brandy and one (1) partially smoked hand-rolled cigar containing suspected marijuana were discovered in the vehicle.

The passengers were issued summonses for 39:4-51(a) and 39:4-51(b) (consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle and possession of an unsealed container of alcohol in a motor vehicle).

Ofarrell was charged with 2C:35-10(a)(4) (possession of marijuana), 39:4-51(a), 39:4-51(b) (consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle and possession of an unsealed container of alcohol in a motor vehicle); and 39:4-88(b) (failure to maintain lane). Ofarrell was released pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court date of June 30, 2011.
