Eugene Meola To Run As 1st Ward Democratic Candidate

The Roselle Park Democratic Committee (RPDC) announced tonight that Eugene Meola will run as the Democratic Candidate for the first ward, filling the vacancy left when Larry Dinardo removed his name from the November election.

“Basically, I told them [RPDC] that I’m going to be working for the people,” stated Mr. Meola after the meeting, “I’m going to ask the people for their opinion. What they like, what they don’t like. They can even call me. I’m in the book.”

Mr. Meola will be running against Republican candidate Andrew Casais who himself replaced Republican Primary candidate Richard Huxford who removed his name from the ballot.  The announcement tonight leaves only one (1) vacancy for the general election; that of the Democratic 2nd Ward candidate.

No information was provided whether that vacancy would be filled but the RPDC has until 4 p.m. on Thursday, September 15, 2011 to submit a name.
