DPW Union Settles Five-Year Contract At 2%

The Roselle Park Public Works Group, the union for the Department of Public Works (DPW), has agreed to to a five-year contract that will end in 2019. The contract provides a 2% increase for each year of the contract for the nine (9) positions in the union. Those positions are:

  • Laborer/Helper
  • Class I Laborer (Entry)
  • Class II Laborer (Entry)
  • Class II Laborer (2-Years)
  • Equipment Operator
  • Apprentice Operator
  • Automotive Mechanic
  • Shade Tree Bucket Operator
  • Working Foreman

The entry level position of Laborer/Helper has a starting salary of $32,366.66 this year and a final salary of $35,034.71 in 2019. The position of Working Foreman has a 2015 salary of $68,104.64 with a 2019 salary of $73,718.65.

These amounts are the base pay and do not take into account overtime.

The contract was ratified by the union in October of 2014 and it is in line with a majority of the other union contracts agreed to by the municipality.
