Dog Stolen From Backyard

On October 7, 2010, Patrolman James Kompany filed a report of a theft of a dog. The complainant stated that someone entered their fenced-in backyard and stole their dog. The complainant stated that they placed the dog in the backyard at approximately 1 p.m. and returned ten minutes later to find it missing.

The description of the dog is:

  • Australian miniature shepherd
  • 8 months old
  • Name is “Australia”
  • Black fur
  • Brown muzzle
  • Brown eyes
  • White paws
  • 1-foot high
  • 30 lbs.
  • Valued at $1,500

A neighbor stated to police he may have seen the parties involved in this incident. The witness stated that at approximately 1:30 p.m., he observed two (2) juvenile males, White or Hispanic, riding bicycles southbound on the 800 block of Elm Street. One of these boys was carrying a small black dog in his arms. The witness said that he overheard the male holding the dog say, “I finally got the dog that I wanted.”

The witness further described these individuals as approximately 14-years old, 5’6″ – 5’9″, black/brown short hair, wearing shorts and white t-shirts.
