The Dads Club of Roselle Park will be holding its monthly meeting on October 19th at 7:30 p.m. in the downstairs room of Frenchy’s Bar & Grill. This meeting will include a meet with middle and high school coaches.
The Dads Club has been working with the Roselle Park School District and the community for over eight decades since 1934 to benefit the youth of the borough. It has always adhered to its original mission statement:
“The objectives of this organization shall be to work in close cooperation with High School coaches, teachers, Board of Education and Governing body of the community, in a sincere effort to create a fuller and more productive life for the youth of Roselle Park, believing that in so doing we are helping to make better citizens of tomorrow.”
The Dads Club holds dear to its objectives as it continues to remain an important part of Roselle Park’s present and future. For over eight decades, the Dads Club has volunteered to help the youth of Roselle Park both academically as well as athletically.
Numerous projects over the years have been accomplished with involvement from the Dads Club such as scoreboards at the athletic fields and the high school gymnasium, the press box at the field, a universal gym, and trophy cases – just to name a few. In addition, the Dads Club has given out scholarships and held All-Sports Dinners to recognize the borough’s young athletes.
Membership is open to any man in Roselle Park and it is these volunteers – both new as well as seasoned members – who help the Dads Club grow in years to come. Manpower is necessary to undertake projects and a consistent number of enthusiastic members is critical to the success of the club. New volunteers bring new ideas while long-time members maintain the tradition and character of the Dads Club.
No dues are collected so the only requirement is attendance at monthly meetings along with a vested interest in the children of Roselle Park. The Dads Club relies on donations and fundraisers to maintain its financial health in order to give back to the community. Popular fundraisers include the annual Dads Club Wrestling Tournament, golf outings, and casino bus trips.
Members are treated to refreshments at all meetings, which are held every third Wednesday of each month except in July, August, and December.
