Credit Card Fraudulently Used For Purchases & DirecTV Installation

On March 19, 2011 at 2:37 p.m., a resident reported credit card fraud. The victim stated on March 9, 2011 at approximately 2 p.m., he received a call from Chase Bank concerning fraudulent charges on his credit card. He was told by his bank they had flagged a transaction occurring in Pennsylvania as possible fraud.

On Monday, March, 14 2011, the victim received two packages in the mail containing DVDs from Amazon.com and a package containing books from a company called “Spirit”. He stated that he was prompted to make a police report after employees of DirecTV arrived at his residence the morning of March 19, 2011 stating that they had been contracted to install service. The employees stated that they had been called by a male to confirm the appointment. The victim stated he did not make any of the purchases and contacted his credit bureaus to report the fraud.
