Cracked Winshield Ends In CDS Arrest For Jersey City Teen

On Monday, September 5, 2011 at 2:27 p.m., Patrolman Mitchell White observed a black Chrysler Sebring traveling eastbound on West Westfield Avenue with a cracked windshield – a violation of 39:3-74. A motor vehicle stop resulted in the discovery of a partially consumed 12 oz. bottle of Coors Light beer and one (1) small clear Ziplock bag containing suspected marijuana.

The driver was charged with 39:3-74 (obstructed view) and 39:4-51(b) (open container of alcohol). A passenger, Ahmed Aouf, age 19 of Jersey City, was placed under arrest and charged with 2C:35-10(a)(4) (possession of marijuana), 2C:36-2 (drug paraphernalia), and 39:3-76.2(f) (no seatbelt). He was released pending a Roselle Park Municipal Court appearance.
