On June 29, 2011 at approximately 11:01 a.m., Patrolman Richard Hernandez responded to the 100 block of Chestnut Street on a report of a burglary to a restaurant. The complainant stated that upon opening the business for the day, he discovered the business office ransacked and a safe had been removed from the building.
An employee of the business discovered a hand truck – which was normally used to transport equipment and supplies into the restaurant and kept inside the business – was at the end of a long driveway on the 10 block of Warren Avenue. It is believed the suspect(s) used the hand truck to remove the safe from the building.
Detective Matthew Disano is investigating this case.
