Corner Convenience Store Hold-Up

On September 18, 2010 at 9:27 p.m., while on patrol, Patrolman John Deegan was flagged down in front of 241 East Westfield Avenue (WCRS Sub-Delicious Convenience Store) where the victim stated that he was just robbed at gunpoint. The victim stated a male entered the store, held a black handgun and ordered him to the ground and then stole approximately $150 in cash from the register as well as the victim’s personal wallet.

The victim described the suspect as a dark skinned black male, in his early twenties, approximately 5′ 8″, 125 lbs., with no facial hair, wearing a dark bandana or scarf, a black hooded sweat-shirt, blue jeans, black boots, and black gloves.

A witness stated that while driving westbound on East Westfield Avenue, he observed a party matching the description of the suspect riding a mountain bicycle quickly across East Westfield Avenue at Pershing Avenue. A check of the area for the suspect was unsuccessful.

A county alarm was broadcast to all municipalities.

Detective Dominick Frino and Detective Hussam Assad are investigating this case.
