The Community Nursery School of the Community United Methodist Church (CUMC) of Roselle Park is currently accepting fall registration for their 2012 programs. The nursery school year runs from September through June and generally follows the Roselle Park School District’s calendar.
There is an optional Summer Fun program which takes place for one or two weeks after the close of regular classes in June.
Children can be registered for a part-time program for 2, 3, or 5 days per week from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. or for a full-day program which takes place 3 or 5 days per week from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The requirements for the school are that children must be fully potty-trained and they must be three-years-old by October 31st.
Established in 1965, the Community Nursery School is a state licensed part-time Christian based pre-school program which offers quality care for children ages three through five years of age of all faiths and from all communities. The school has state-certified staff members and has an educational curriculum based on learning through play with low ratios in its classrooms which prepares the students for kindergarten.
Some of the nursery’s activities include fall pumpkin picking field trips, spring “school bus” field trips to the zoo, a winter dance program, summer fun programs, lunch bunch, a dental magic show, fire truck visits, and hatching science projects. During the year students also take part in various community outreach projects such as pajama day for the Leukemia Society, a Trike-a-Thon for St. Jude’s Children’s Research hospital, and more.
Interested families can stop in or call to schedule a tour. More information regarding the school can be found on the nursery school’s website at communitynurseryschool.webs.com (link) or by calling the nursery director, Jessica Ellam, in the school office at (908) 245-8651.
