Registration for Roselle Park’s 2016 Community Garden will have three (3) sign-up dates in March. Last year was the borough’s first season of its community garden located at 133 Valley Road.
The Roselle Park Community Garden was based on the suggestion and research of Roselle Park resident Alex Haluszczak who presented the idea to the governing body at a municipal budget workshop in 2013. Mr. Haluszczak’s recommendation to use the vacant land on Valley Road was finally implemented last year by the municipality.
In-person sign-ups for the 2016 season will on a first come-first serve basis. The three (3) registration dates are listed below:

Those interested in taking part this year as gardeners will need the following material:
- Flowers/plants/seeds that are to be planted
- Gardening gloves
- Planting tools
- Optional material:
- Plastic to cover up plants on cool nights
- Ground-up eggshells
- Used coffee grounds
- Plant markers
- Stakes with gardener’s name
- Decorations
There are limited plots available; last year there were just 30 plots in the garden. Each plot is $20 and only cash will be accepted. Anyone needing more information can email RPCommunityGarden[@]rosellepark.net (remove brackets in order to send email).
