Chilean Bakery, located at the intersection of East Lincoln Avenue and Hemlock Street, will be hosting a small free event from 11 a.m. till 7 o’clock today, Saturday 26th, at night to thank its clients and celebrate Chilean National Day, which is part of Chile’s Fiestas Patrias.
The South American eatery has been in Roselle Park since 2012 and has been a draw for those looking for Authentic Chilean food from throughout the state.
Fiestas Patrias, also known as 18 Chico, is a two-day celebration that commemorates the proclamation of Chile’s first independent Governing Body in 1810 and freedom from Spanish rule. The celebration is unofficially held close to the Spring Equinox in the Southern Hemisphere – which occurs in September.
The celebration will have Chilean Bakery favorites such as empanadas, Anticuchos (shish kabobs), fried fish, Pastel de Choclo along with menu specials.
On hand providing live music will be Retro Rock, Sergio Villarroel, Carlos Caceres, and Grupo Araucaria.
