Volunteers and supporters of the Roselle Park First Aid Squad (RPFAS) will be collecting needed winter items for America’s homeless veterans and their families the week of September 20th.
Starting Monday, the 21st, and going all week until Saturday, September 26th, residents will have an opportunity to drop off items at the Squad House Monday through Friday from 7:30 p.m. till 10 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. till 3 p.m.
Items being sought for donation include:
- Hats
- Gloves
- Hooded Sweat Shirts
- Underwear
- Socks
- Soap
- Shampoo
- Chapstick
- Deodorant
- Combs
- Brushes
- Tissues
- Moisturizing Cream
- Handiwipes
It is requested that all items be new and in original packaging, if applicable.
All items collected will be put into a backpack and distributed to the estimated 8,000 homeless veterans throughout the state by the Veterans Chamber of Commerce-NJ (link) and volunteers of Operation Chillout (link). Knights of Columbus will volunteer to equip the backpacks with donated items.
