Church Of The Assumption Honors Child Artists At Annual St. Nicholas Party

On December 9th at the Annual St. Nicholas Party in the Msgr, Loreti Hall at the Church of the Assumption, 113 Chiego Place, Roselle Park, NJ, 15 children of the parish were given special Certificates Of Recognition for their artwork that appears throughout the parish’s recently published cookbook.

At the party, the children’s artwork was displayed around the hall. There had been 30 submissions from which the final 15 illustrations were selected. Francesca Crincoli had the special honor of having her artwork appear on the cover and Larissa Steuber’s work was selected for the back cover. The remaining 13 children’s artwork is featured in various sections throughout the book.

The St. Nicholas Party is an annual affair with home-baked cookies and cupcakes, skits put on by the children of the parish, and an appearance of not only St. Nicholas, but also Santa. There was also the opportunity to talk to Santa and get a picture.

The cookbook is professionally published as a 6″x9″ plastic ring bound book containing 100+ pages filled with hundreds of recipes – appetizers, soups & salads, sides, entrees & desserts. There are old-fashioned recipes, modern favorites, and some ethnic novelties; all highlighted by the delightful illustrations from children of the Parish.

The “Church of the Assumption’s Parish Family Cookbook” is still available for purchase at $10 each. If interested please call the Parish Office at (908) 245-1107.
