The food bank of the Church of the Assumption in Roselle Park, which operates on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month from 11 am until noon, is launching a new project called ‘Grow A Row’. Local gardeners who are planting a vegetable garden this year are asked to plant an extra row of crop and donate the produce to the food bank.
Due to the perishable nature of fresh produce, the vegetables and fruit donated from the Grow A Row program cannot be accepted at the usual drop off bins in the church. Fresh produce may be dropped off from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays of every month.
Also, the Roselle Park Veterans Memorial Library has agreed to collect fresh produce all day on the the Mondays just prior to the Church’s food distribution day.
