Cellphone Violation Leads To Drug Paraphernalia Arrest

On May 11, 2012, Patrolman Nicholas Vaughan stopped a 2007 Mercury on the 700 block of Galloping Hill Road for a cellphone violation. The driver, Alyssa C. Figueredo, age 18 of Union Township, was issued a summons for use of a handheld device.

While officer Vaughan was explaining the summons to Figueredo, he detected the odor of marijuana coming from within the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed a red “water bong” and an orange metal pipe, both contained suspected marijuana residue. Figueredo was arrested and later released with a summons for possessing drug paraphernalia.
