“Celebration Of Colors” Canceled

The borough’s first “Celebration of Colors: A Celebration Of Pride For Everyone” set for Saturday, September 1st, has been canceled.

The pride event had already been rescheduled twice due to weather but this time, the LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning) organizations and other supporting organizations which were scheduled to participate in the Education Station area and food area are not able to provided staffing this Saturday.

Councilman-At-Large Joseph DeIorio explained, “Without the education station groups not able to be there, the learning component would be absent – defeating the whole purpose of the event. We will return next year with an even better event than ever – rain or shine.”

Plans are in the works to hold an event in May of next year with the high school as a secondary location in case of inclement weather.
