Casais, Caswell, and Hokanson Win Election

The 2011 election season has officially ended with Andrew Casais winning a seat on the governing body as 1st ward council, Marc Caswell officially being voted in as the 2nd ward for another year, and Carl Hokanson returning as Council-At-Large for a second term. Mr. Casais won his ward by four (4) votes which may, most likely, result in a recount. Councilman Caswell ran unopposed- easily winning to officially become the 2nd ward councilman until 2012 when his seat comes up for election for the next three (3) years. Councilman-At-Large Hokanson bested Republican candidate Glen Costello by an almost 2-to-1 margin.

There were (2) provisional ballots – one for the 1st ward and the other for the 3rd ward.  Barring absentee ballots that were mailed by November 1st, absentee ballots that were filled out in person on Monday, or military mail-in ballots that were not yet tallied, Mr. Casais will be the 1st ward council for the next three (3) years.

Below are the results from all poling stations in the Borough. A complete tally with provisional votes and write-in votes will be published as they become available:
