The candidates for this year’s council seats have filed for the 3rd and 4th wards.
Third Ward Councilman Ryan Kelly has filed to run to retain his seat as the Republican candidate. Kevin Kolbeck has filed as the Democratic candidate for the 3rd ward.
Michael Connelly is the Democratic candidate for the 4th ward while Anthony Cordero is running as a Republican.
Current 4th Ward Councilman Mohamed ‘Gino’ Elmarassy did not file to run for a second term.
Unlike the presidential primary election which is meant to pick one general election candidate from a list of many for each political party, in Roselle Park both party line seats usually run uncontested for primary elections.
The deadline for an independent to file to run in November is on June 7th, Primary Election Day.
