On July 17, 2011 at 11:08 p.m., Roselle Park Police responded to the 100 block of Sheridan Avenue for a report of a burglary. The victim stated she came home and when she opened her front door it was not locked. When she entered her home she noticed that the closet door was opened.
She then noticed that a window in her living room was opened. The victim then left the residence and called police.
A search of the residence was negative for suspects. The residence appeared to have been gone through and several drawers in all rooms were opened and gone through.
The point of entry for the suspect(s) was the side window into the living room which was left opened about 2 inches. On the ground on the side of the house was a bucket which was used to help the suspect(s) gain entry into the living area. The window was opened all the way.
When officers arrived, the victim stated a 36″ flat screen TV was taken. Also taken were several pieces of diamond jewelry, a Movado watch valued at $1,200.00, some costume jewelry, and a 5-gallon plastic water jug that was filled with change. The jug was recovered in the living room emptied.
