On February 28, 2011 at 7:36 p.m., Roselle Park Police responded to 10 block of East Lincoln Avenue, on a report of burglary to a residence. Upon arrival, police were met by the resident/victim who stated that he left his residence at 5:30 p.m. and returned at 7:30 p.m. Upon his return to his residence, he noticed it was cold in the home and found the window to the back door was shattered and that the window next to the door was open. It appears the suspect(s) attempted to enter the residence by breaking the window to the rear door, but were unable to gain entry, the suspect(s) then entered the residence thru the window that is next to the door. The window was unlocked. The residence backs up to the train tracks. There was a black LED flash light that was located that the
resident stated did not belong to him.
Belongings in the bedrooms were thrown on the floor and a safe in was broken open.
A liquor cabinet was open with multiple bottles pulled out. The victim stated that seven (7) bottles of wine were taken from a wine rack; the brand and value of the wine is unknown.
Six (6) watches from were also stolen and a check book is missing
A check with neighbors proved negative for any suspicious person(s) or activity in the area.
