Boy Scouts of America Patriots’ Path Council will be holding their 2014 Union Lifetime Achievement Award Dinner on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. at the Shackamaxon Country Club in Scotch Plains, New Jersey.
Among those being honored are Roselle Park’s own Kevin Murphy who will be honored for lifelong service to his community, most recently as the 2013-14 President of Roselle-Roselle Park Rotary Club and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Veterans Chamber of Commerce – NJ.
“I am humbled and honored to be a recipient of the Union Lifetime Achievement Award,” stated honoree Kevin Murphy, “When I first entered scouting, the theme was ‘Be Prepared’ which has evolved to ‘Prepared. For Life’. No better words to impose upon our children as they grow in a world of constant changes. When we are prepared, we can face all challenges that come our way, take risks without fear of failure, and achieve the goals that we set for ourselves. But most importantly, we must also be aware of and willing to give of ourselves to others less fortunate so that we all can achieve great things.”
Others being honored include Jon Bramnick (New Jersey Assembly Minority Leader), James Cosgrove (Elizabeth Police Director), Gregory J. DeSalvo (Chief of Staff, Corporate & Investment Bank Oversight & Control of J.P. Morgan), and Lisa Liss (Director of Volunteer Services at Trinitas Regional Medical Center).
The Lifetime Achievement Recognition Award is presented to those who exemplify in their daily life the ideals of the Boy Scouts of America as expressed in the Scout Oath and Law. The recipients were chosen for their outstanding community service as evidenced by the interest and leadership they have given to many worthwhile organizations, as well as the respect and esteem in which they are held by their colleagues.
Individual seats for the event are $125 per person. Table and Event Sponsorships are available.
“We hope you can join us as we honor our outstanding Union County Honorees!,” stated BSA Development Director Jennifer Volz, “Thank you for your support to the Boy Scouts of America!”
Those interested in attending are asked to respond by June 3rd. More information can be found by visiting the event website (link) or by calling Jennifer Volz at (973) 765.9322 (extension 249).
