The municipality received an additional $75,000 from FEMA funding allocated by the state this July. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) – through its Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) – provided funds to help municipalities address local energy project at critical facilities in towns.

The state allocated $13 million in additional funds with most municipalities receiving $75,000 each.

At the August Mayor & Council meeting, Police Chief Paul Morrison stated that those funds would go to having a generator at the Casano Community Center, which is used as a shelter and emergency center.
