Borough Celebrates Its 13th Annual Arbor Day On April 28th

National Arbor Day is the last Friday of every April. For 145 years – since 1872 – America has held an annual observance that celebrates the role of trees in everyday lives and promotes tree planting and care.

The Borough of Roselle Park will hold its 13th annual Arbor Day celebration on April 28th at 2 p.m. in front of Sherman Elementary School.

Mayor Carl Hokanson, members of council. Roselle Park School District Superintendent Pedro Garrido, and students from Sherman Elementary will hold a small ceremony and plant a donated Heritage Birch tree in the front of the school.

Additionally, seedlings obtained by the municipality through the New Jersey Community Forestry Program will be distributed to 100 students at the closing of the ceremony.
