Without any discussion during tonight’s meeting, the Roselle Park Board Of Education (BOE) voted unanimously to end the 2012-2013 school year on June 21, 2013 as opposed to the alternate date of June 14, 2013 – both dates fall on a Friday. The vote was a formality as it was the only date proposed since the June 14th date was removed from consideration after a prolonged discussion from the BOE during the February 28th BOE meeting. This discussion also had input from the public as well as staff members. The dates which will be included as days off with the approved calendar are the following:
- September 26, 2012 (Yom Kippur)
- January 2, 2013
- February 15, 2013
- April 1, 2013 (last day of Passover)
- April 2, 2013
Had the above dates been removed from the school calendar, the school district would have ended classes a full week eariler on June 14, 2013.
