BOE Surveys Give Insight On Concerns & Strengths

Results for a 10-question survey were released by the Roselle Park Board Of Education (BOE). The surveys were initially provided to parents during each school’s ‘Back To School Night’ and filled out by parents and guardians.

1,081 surveys were filled out between the elementary schools, the middle school, and the high school.

Out of the 10 questions, six (6) were the same for the entire district. Questions 7 through 10 were different for RPHS and RPMS. The four RPHS questions dealt with TeacherEase, after-school activities, and Guidance services. The Roselle Park Middle School (RPMS) asked about communication, missing homework policy, involvement in school events, and report cards. The last four (4) questions were the same for all the elementary schools and dealt with evening presentations, drop offs/pick-ups, report cards, and lunches.

Although it had a 84.7% approval average rating district-wide, the websites for all schools were commented on for not being user-friendly or updated on a regular basis. Additionally lunches and meals at each school were criticized for all schools. Parents also asked that students be challenged more with their education. On the positive side, all principals were given praise.

The school district average for the 10 questions as well as a copy of comments published can be viewed below.
