At the March 21st BOE (Board Of Education) meeting, the school board unanimously approved the 2013-14 school year budget. After two years of a zero tax increase, the Board raised the amount to be levied to the full 2% tax cap. Any amount over that, and only that amount. would have gone to a vote during the November general election. This caveat was a trade made with the State to move the school board elections from April to November.
The impact on this year’s property tax bill is estimated to be a $68 increase from the school district for every house assessed at $65,000.
