Starting Sunday, April 1st, Roselle Park Cable Access Television (CATV) will begin broadcasting Board Of Education (BOE) meetings on its regular schedule rotation.
For years BOE meetings were absent from TV-32/34 after the school board stopped conducting its meetings at borough hall to hold rotate them through all of the main schools in the district. Recently the BOE took to recording its meetings and broadcasting them online.
Earlier this year, First Ward Councilwoman Jayme Lynn Negron, who was appointed as the BOE liaison, approached council to have the meetings put back on-air. This came after a suggestion in the form of a question from resident Jacob Magiera during the public comment portion of a BOE meeting.
Roselle Park’s CATV for Comcast customers is on channel 34. Verizon subscribers can view meetings on channel 32.
The new schedule for BOE meetings will have them air at 5:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
Municipal meetings will air seven-days-a-week at 1 a.m., noon, and 8 p.m.
Community events and special programming – when available – will air Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays at 5:30 pm.
For viewers who cannot watch meetings or events at the appointed times on television, they can view BOE meetings online on the Roselle Park School District website (link). Municipal meetings and events can be watched on YouTube on the Roselle Park TV channel (link).
