BOE Appoints Patricia A. Gois As Middle School Principal

The Roselle Park Board Of Education (BOE) unanimously appointed Patricia A. Gois as the principal for the Roselle Park Middle School (RPMS).

The appointment was voted on by the eight attending school board members as a hand-carried resolution at the end of tonight’s BOE meeting. Member Kevin Cancino was absent.

Ms. Gois, who is a resident of the borough, was previously the Principal of Rafael Hernandez Elementary School of the Performing Arts in Newark. She was appointed to that position in July of 2014. Prior to that, she served as a sixth grade Language Arts and Social Studies Teacher and Vice Principal at Ann Street School in Newark for 12 years. In 2009, she received the Governor’s Teacher Recognition Award for Teacher of the Year. Ms. Gois is fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish. She earned a Master’s of Education Leadership, Management & Policy from Seton Hall University and has Principal/Supervisor and Elementary Teacher certifications.

Ms. Gois will officially start in her role as the middle school principal on August 14th of this year at an annual salary of $122,063. She will be taking over for Kathleen Carlin who was RPMS Principal since 2013 and will be formally retiring on August 1st.
