Before- And After-Care Will Be In Place On April 6th

A message sent to parents and guardians this morning by the Work-Family Connection (link) explained that it will operate on a normal schedule on April 6th.

At last night’s Board Of Education (BOE) meeting, the board approved School Superintendent’s Pedro Garrido’s recommendation to make next Friday and four-hour school day. The use of a day during spring break was to make up for a fourth snow day used last Wednesday.

The Work-Family Connection will operate from school dismissal till 6 p.m. and parents are asked to prepare a lunch for their children. Before-care will also operate on a normal schedule in each of the elementary schools.

New Jersey law requires 180 days of school instruction and the Roselle Park School District had 183 days in their calendar. Those three days were used by March 8th due to snow day school closings. The fourth, on March 21st, required that the district begin using scheduled days off from the school calendar which was approved last year. April 6th was set as a full day of school but the board approved a half day last night.
