Attempted Vehicle Burglary Reported On Westfield Avenue

On August 22, 2011, an investigation revealed unknown actor(s) unlocked and opened the driver side front door of a 2000 Ford Explorer which was parked in the driveway of a residence on the 300 block of East Westfield Avenue located on the east side of the property. Actor(s) did not appear to have entered the vehicle possibly due to the fact that the vehicles’ alarm had been activated when the car door was opened. There were no signs of forced entry to the vehicle. At this time, nothing appears to have been taken or damaged on the vehicle. Victim stated that he heard the car alarm go off and that when he looked outside he saw that the driver side door to his vehicle was open, but no one was around. Area was checked with negative results for the actor(s).
