On January 12, 2011 at about 8 a.m., patrolman Kevin Florczak responded to the 10 block of East Westfield Avenue on a report of an attempted theft of a vehicle.
The victim explained that he went to his vehicle at approximately 7 a.m. on January 12, 2011 to shovel snow from his driveway. When he exited his house, he noticed three (3) tool boxes containing tools on the front steps of his house. He stated that his tool boxes were last seen in his work van which was parked at the rear of the house.
Upon further inspection of his van he noticed that someone had forcefully removed the plastic trim around the steering column, additionally several cables were cut and an unknown object, possibly a screwdriver, was forced into the ignition in an attempt to start the vehicle.
A blue Makita tool box containing a power saw was missing from the truck with a value of about $500.00.
