Attempted Break-In On Locust Street

On October 3, 2010 at 2:19 p.m., Patrolman Matthew Disano responded to the 800 block of Locust Street on a report of an attempted burglary. A witness indicated that the suspect attempted to gain entry through a window of the residence and then left the scene headed south on Locust Street in a dark gray Toyota Wagon Venza – partial New Jersey registration VHE67.

Initial observations did not yield any forced entry to the residence which was unoccupied and vacant.

A witness stated they observed a Hispanic male in his late 20s early 30s, 185 lbs., 6′ 0″, with a shaved head, and multi-colored jacket, attempt to gain entry into the residence through a window without success. The vehicle then left the area prior to police arrival.

Police Chief Paul W. Morrison stated, “Residents are reminded to be observant and aware of homes in their neighborhood that may be vacant. Any suspicious activity should be reported to police immediately.”
