Attempted Auto Theft On Seaton Avenue

On October 21, 2010, Patrolman Michael Smith responded to the 300 block of Seaton Avenue on the report of an attempted auto theft. The victim stated they parked their 1995 Jeep in the driveway of their residence overnight. When they returned to the vehicle at 8:44 a.m. the next morning they noticed that the door locks on the driver and passenger side doors had been punched out. The rear window on the passenger side had also been broken and there was a large rock on the passenger seat. The steering column was broken around the ignition switch. The top of the center console was laying on the floor in the rear of the vehicle. No items inside of the vehicle were reported missing. A check of other vehicles in the area revealed no damage. The cost to repair is unknown.
