The position of Assistant Superintendent for the Department of Public Works (DPW) was appointed during the July Mayor & Council meeting.
Resolution 172-16 appointed Robert Krahnert, from Union Township, to the position of Assistant Superintendent for a 90-day probationary period, effective July 25, 2016 at the annual salary of $69,446.73.
This makes the fourth hire for the DPW this year. During the public budget workshops this year, DPW Superintendent Mark Pasquali had requested two new employees for the department. One laborer was approved during the 2015 budget workshops but the position was not filled last year. The position of Assistant Superintendent was to replace Richard Graves who resigned earlier this year from the DPW.
During the July 21st meeting, it was stated that Mr. Krahnert is from Krahnert Brothers on Westfield Avenue.
In June of this year, council appointed Gregory David Brzozowski and John Paul Devito, both from Roselle Park, as well as Paul Michael Gallagher from Kenilworth to the positions of Class I Laborer at a salary of $45,894.96 each with a six-month probationary period.
