Arrest Made On April 26th Burglary

Late Wednesday night, May 8th, at approximately 11:30 p.m., a business owner reported a suspicious male loitering near the back door of his restaurant. Police responded to the East Westfield Avenue location where the suspect was located walking northbound on Dalton Street. Upon, viewing the suspect, later identified as Martin Luna, 31 of Roselle, Patrolman John Deegan recognized him to be a suspect in an April restaurant burglary. At the scene, Luna was arrested on a $750 warrant from Roselle Park Municipal Court and transported to police headquarters.

Detective Robert Harms responded and interviewed Luna who was ultimately charged with Burglary and Theft from the April 26th burglary. Luna is accused of prying open a door to the restaurant to steal cash and food. The burglary was captured on video surveillance. Luna was transported to the Union County Jail in lieu of $15,000.
