On November 10, 2011 at 10:22 p.m., Patrolman Nicholas Vaughan responded to the 200 block of West Sumner Avenue on a report of an apartment burglary. The victim stated that someone had broken into the apartment and stole several items between 8:45 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on November 10th.
The victim reported the following items stolen:
- a burgundy gateway laptop valued at $500.00
- a wooden jewelry box and a red “plaid” jewelry box containing approximately $2,000.00 worth of jewelry.
Patrolman Vaughan observed pry marks on the door near the deadbolt and a piece of the deadbolt was broken off. The peephole also appeared to have been punched in.
